Is there anything better than ice cream? Well, believe it or not, there is something better than ice cream — homemade ice cream! You don’t need to own an ice cream machine to make this delicious treat. All you need is patience, since the ice cream needs to harden in your freezer for a few hours before you can eat it!
This recipe is from a book called “Apples for Jam” by Tessa Kiros.

Homemade Ice Cream
1 1/2 Cups Chocolate (use semi-sweet quality chocolate, but don’t use unsweetened!)
1 1/2 Cups Milk
3 Egg Yolks (keep the whites in the fridge for an egg white omelette)
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Tsp. Vanilla
1 Cup Whipping Cream (heavy cream)
Necessary Equipment:
Hand mixer, bowl with a secure cover
Melt:
Melt the chocolate and the milk in a heavy saucepan (on low heat) whisking until smooth.
Mix:
Using a hand mixer, mix the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until all ingredients are thick and creamy. Whisk one ladleful of the chocolate mixture into. the egg mixture. Then, add the rest of the chocolate to the egg mixture, and whip all ingredients until smooth with a hand mixer.
Cook:
Place the entire mixture back into the saucepan, and cook for one minute while whisking.
Freeze and Whisk:
Let the mixture cook completely before placing it inside of your freezer. After one hour, take the mixture out of the freezer, and whip it for thirty seconds. Place the mixture back inside of your freezer, and allow the mixture to freeze until it is completely solid and resembles ice cream.
Trust me, you’ll love the taste of this treat!

Awesome! I remember we used to make homemade ice cream using a coffee can and some salt…this seems different, though. I might give it a try.
Now you have me intrigued — coffee can and salt? You’ll have to explain this one!
After examining this particular post, I pondered the same thing that i often wonder when reading fresh weblogs. What exactly do I think about this? How does this influence me? There are numerous fantastic brain food blogs out there and I really feel like I just had a fine helping here browsing yours. I literally ended up here via Bing when I was doing some research for some training course work that I have. Always a pleasure reading through and I do hope you keep things up. Bye!
